1937-1939

Moves with his family to Athens, where he abandons his studies.

1943

Arrives in Vienna as a forced labourer.

1945-1949

Studies painting at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna under Robin Christian Andersen.

1953-1956

Studies sculpture under Fritz Wotruba.

1956

Recipient of the Prize of the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna.

1957

Meets Annemarie Persche, sculptor and poet. Marries her two years later.

1961

Hugo von Montfort Prize, Bregenz.
Prize of the Austrian Federation of Industry.

1962

Participates in the Venice Biennale (Austrian Pavilion), where he meets Alberto Giacometti.

1964

Recipient of the City of Vienna Prize.

1965-1966

Professor at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna.

1966-1968

Visiting professor at the Hamburg Academy of Fine Arts.

Will Grohmann Prize, City of Berlin.

Professor of Sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna.

Jerg-Ratgeb Prize and solo exhibition at the Reutlingen Museum of Fine Arts.
